Among the real-world applications of big data analytics, service optimization is a typical and broad scenario that addresses the processing of big data, and more importantly, discover and utilize insights from the big data.

Service optimization and management refer to the implementation, deliver, management, and guarantee quality of business services. It is performed by service providers through people, process and information technologies. It is known as a methodology for information technology (IT) management by aligning IT services and IT infrastructure supporting those services with business processes and delivering businesses values to external and internal customers. Many of service providers are concerned with the “Back Office” or operational concerns of IT services management, and focus on providing a framework to structure IT-related activities and the interactions of IT technical personnel with business customers and users, it becomes an evolving challenge for IT service providers, due to the increasing demands of improved services quality, reducing the services management and delivery cost, and emerging innovative services from big data analytics business applications. Meanwhile, with the unprecedented popularity of Mobile, Analytics, Social and Cloud, which fundamentally impacts how customers, employees, organizations and industries work and creates “Front Office” transformation opportunities to enterprises, this leads to changes, opportunities and challenges for service optimization.

This workshop aims at but is not limited to technical papers, panel proposals, demos or discussions presenting research and technique results, applications, vision, challenges and opportunities in leveraging big data analytics for next generation service optimization.
